Nobody was farming the lower level normal stages, but it does seem like Hard maps have higher drop rate per stamina ratio. Here's some data on drop rates of the rare items. Some medal drops are left ?, but the data can be assumed following the pattern of 1/3, 2/3, and 3/3. This table shows the drops for each of those 6 stages. These maps drop additional goodies besides medals. There are several new event maps, and 6 stands out for farming.
